Who I Am
In 2001, I moved to Shrewsbury and it became home to my young family. I fell in love with the neighborhood and the people who lived here. The close proximity to two beautiful parks made it a perfect place for my three children to grow and thrive. Shrewsbury has provided us with many wonderful memories including those from camps, park programs, countless Fall Festivals, visits to the City Center, and many days at the pool. When career opportunities led my family out of state, we kept our Shrewsbury home with the goal of returning, which we did in 2010.
I have been an active member of the community for many years. I served on the Park Board, formed a beautification group - Share it Shrewsbury, and am a current member of the Shrewsbury Historical Society. In recognition of my work for the City of Shrewsbury, I was awarded Citizen of the year in 2016.
I worked 5-1/2 years as the City of Shrewsbury horticulturist. One of the highlights of my career was obtaining the Tree City USA designation for our City and successfully planting 887 trees. Through my work and within municipal government, I became familiar with how the city functions. I also gained valuable insights through the interactions I had with residents in understanding their wants and needs.
Why I'm Running:
I am running for Alderperson in Ward 1 because this community and its residents have always meant so much to me. It is why I’m so invested in working hard to see it thrive and committed to doing everything I can to make Shrewsbury a great place to live today and for years to come. The City of Shrewsbury is always in my heart and on my mind, and I’m ready to get to work for its citizens.
